Who We Are
Noho Ola Kūpaʻa is a clean and sober housing community rooted in the values of Hawaiian culture and the spirit of ʻohana. We provide a safe, nurturing home for individuals committed to sobriety — a place where healing, growth, and connection are possible.
Our name speaks to our purpose: noho ola means "to live well," and kūpaʻa means steadfast — an unwavering commitment to the path of recovery.

Our Symbol
The kukui nut and leaf are central to our identity, carrying deep meaning rooted in Hawaiian tradition:
Kukui nuts were traditionally used to create light, symbolizing wisdom and the illumination of a new path in life.
Kukui oil was used medicinally — a symbol of protection, health, and physical and emotional well-being.
The kukui tree served as a navigational marker, representing guidance, safe journeys, and the light that leads the way home.
Kukui leis are worn in ceremony to honor ancestors, symbolizing respect, remembrance, and our bond with those who came before.
Our Community
Our Mission
At Noho Ola Kūpaʻa, our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where individuals committed to a life of sobriety can heal, grow, and thrive. We foster a sense of ʻohana within our home, encouraging each resident to embrace their recovery journey with strength, humility, and aloha. We aim to empower our residents through structured support, mutual respect, and a commitment to personal and communal well-being. Together, we honor the path of recovery and celebrate the strength in living a life of purpose, connection, and kūpaʻa.
If you or someone you know is ready to take the first step toward sobriety, we are here to welcome you.
